Professor Catherine Dean holds the position of Deputy Dean, Education and Employability in Macquarie University's Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences. She is also a leading academic in physiotherapy and health professions education. Her roles include overseeing the Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) program, introducing innovative courses like the Macquarie MD, and expanding educational programs into psychology, cognitive science, and linguistics. Dean previously served as Head of the Department of Health Professions at Macquarie and held roles at the University of Sydney for 20 years.

Leadership includes pioneering the DPT program, leading educational reforms, and fostering interprofessional collaboration. Current initiatives focus on work readiness frameworks for health graduates and translational research in rehabilitation strategies.
