Catherine Chirouze is a Clinical Professor and infectious disease specialist affiliated with the University of Besançon and the Besançon University Hospital Center (CHU). She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree in 2001 through a thesis examining procalcitonin's role in diagnosing community-acquired infections. Chirouze co-edited the 27th edition of Maladies infectieuses et tropicales, a key textbook in the field, alongside colleagues Olivier Épaulard and Rozenn Le Berre.
