Catharine Wright is an Associate Professor of Writing and Rhetoric & Gender, Sexuality and Feminist Studies at Middlebury College. She holds dual departmental affiliations and teaches courses at the intersection of creative writing, feminist theory, and social justice education. Her work emphasizes embodied pedagogies integrating contemplative practices and movement, with a focus on anti-oppression frameworks.

Her research explores intersections of gender, ecology, and creative expression. Current work involves creating the Sheep Ways educational platform documenting global shepherd practices.
Publications span creative writing (short fiction, poetry, essays) and academic collaborations, including co-authored Vermonters At Their Craft and co-edited Social Justice Education. Recent articles address climate mitigation through regenerative agriculture and feminist discourses on joy.
Awards include recognition for creative writing and grants from the Whiting Foundation and Kathryn Wasserman Davis Collaborative. She advises student research projects on environmental humanities and cultural heritage, and maintains active collaborations across Middlebury's academic divisions.
