Caterina Vernieri is Assistant Professor of Particle Physics and Astrophysics at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, operated by Stanford University. She leads research on the ATLAS experiment at CERN, specializing in Higgs boson physics and detector development for the ATLAS Pixel Inner Tracker.
Her research focuses on precision measurements of the Higgs boson using LHC data. She previously co-led the Higgs decay discovery group at CMS before joining SLAC, where she directs integration activities for next-generation particle detectors.
Vernieri coordinates US contributions to future particle physics research as co-convener of the Higgs boson properties group in national planning studies. Her work bridges fundamental particle research and advanced instrumentation development.
