Caterina Domeneghini is a Research Fellow (Post-Award Member) at Wolfson College, University of Oxford, specializing in Victorian and Edwardian literature, publishing history, print culture, classical reception, and translation studies.
She completed her PhD at Oxford with the thesis "Classics in English, English Classics: Reading J. M. Dent's Everyman's Library from Greco-Roman Antiquity to Nationalism and World Literature" under the supervision of Dr. Stefano-Maria Evangelista and Professor Fiona Macintosh.
Her research analyzes how classical texts were adapted through English publishing practices in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, particularly examining J.M. Dent's Everyman's Library series as a vehicle for transmitting Greco-Roman antiquity within nationalist frameworks and evolving world literature canons, with emphasis on translation dynamics and print culture's role in shaping literary reception.
