Dr. Cate Madill is an Associate Professor in Speech Pathology and Director of the Voice Research Laboratory at the University of Sydney's Faculty of Health Sciences. She specializes in experimental and applied clinical research on voice mechanisms, including motor learning in voice tasks, vocal cue-biomechanical relationships, and voice therapy efficacy. Her work employs advanced techniques like high-speed laryngoscopy, ultrasound, and acoustic analysis.

Research Interests: Current projects focus on motor learning principles in voice therapy, voice outcomes post-transplant, vocal onset measurement, and nasalance impact. Past work includes studies on vocal nodules treatments, early glottic cancer outcomes, and broadcaster vocal characteristics.
Advising & Grants: Supervised 1 Master’s student and numerous honors students. Primary supervisor of 4 undergraduates and associate supervisor for 1 PhD and 2 Master’s students. Teaches courses on voice science and technique.
Labs/Teams: Director of the Voice Research Laboratory and member of the Communication Sciences and Disorders research team.
