Cassie Rowland is a Lecturer in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Newman University, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts, Society and Professional Studies. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science from Sheffield University and an MSc in Psychotherapy from Newman University, where she graduated with distinction in her research on Imposter Phenomena in trainee therapists.
Her career spans diverse fields including forensic science, healthcare recruitment, business management, and regional care management. She transitioned into psychotherapy training in 2015 and joined Newman University as a Lecturer in 2021. Cassie teaches core modules such as Counselling Skills, Ethical Issues, and Case Discussion Groups, while also leading personal development groups and maintaining a private practice.
Professional memberships include accreditation with the UKCP and UPCA, and registration with the BACP. Her research focuses on therapist development challenges, particularly imposter syndrome, aligning with her teaching in mental health education and professional practice.
