Dr. Cassandra Glynn serves as Associate Professor of Education at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, and directs both the Master of Education in World Language Instruction (in partnership with Concordia Language Villages) and the Master of Education with Teaching and Learning concentration.
Her academic preparation includes:
- M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Minnesota, specializing in Second Languages and Cultures Education
- Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Minnesota, specializing in Second Languages and Cultures Education
Research centers on marginalized students' experiences in world language classrooms and teachers' implementation of critical approaches to language/culture education, with strong emphasis on social justice frameworks as demonstrated in her co-authored book 'Words and Actions: Teaching Languages Through the Lens of Social Justice' (ACTFL, 2014, 2018). Scholarly contributions appear in the L2 Journal, Modern Language Journal, Language Teaching Research, and Journal of Curriculum and Pedagogy.
Prior to her faculty appointment, Dr. Glynn taught middle school language courses and high school German (including dual-credit programs), with additional experience at Concordia Language Villages' German and French programs.
