Cassandra Bowkett serves as a Lecturer in Human Resource Management, Employment Relations & Law at the Alliance Business School, University of Manchester, and is affiliated with the Work & Equalities Institute. She joined the institution in 2021 and currently leads research within the Digital Futures at Work (DIGIT) ESRC centre project (2025-2027) examining automation, robotics, and HRM practices, alongside a Productivity Institute-funded study on digital technologies in food manufacturing.
Her research focuses on skill development systems, the impact of Industry 4.0/digital technologies on manufacturing workforces, and employment relations in aerospace sectors. Key thematic areas include:

- Cross-national comparisons of skill formation systems
- Collective resource building for future workforce challenges
- Employer forum effectiveness in regional labor markets
