Carsten Müller-Tidow

Prof. Dr. Carsten Müller-Tidow is a Medical Director at the Department of Hematology, Oncology, and Rheumatology at Heidelberg University Hospital (UKHD) and a member of the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT). He leads research groups focused on epigenomics in AML and the Molecular Medicine Partnership Unit (MMPU). His clinical roles include managing the Task Force Acute Myeloid Leukemia and operating a private outpatient clinic.

His research interests center on acute leukemias, myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), and innovative therapy approaches for hematologic malignancies. Key areas include epigenetic mechanisms, stem cell biology, and early clinical trials targeting AML and multiple myeloma. Müller-Tidow has pioneered studies on CAR-T cell therapies and epigenetic modifiers like venetoclax.

Recent work highlights the role of clonal hematopoiesis in disease progression and leverages single-cell multi-omics to dissect AML heterogeneity. Collaborative efforts with the MMPU integrate clinical and experimental research to advance personalized medicine.
