Carsten Hjort Lange is a Professor in the Department of Politics and Society at Aalborg University, Denmark. He specializes in Roman history, focusing on civil war, political/military history, and ancient historiography. His work extends to comparative studies of the American Civil War and contemporary US politics. He co-edits Brill's Historiography of Rome and Its Empire and De Gruyter's Studies in Ancient Civil War.
