Carsten Eden

Carsten Eden is Professor and Managing Director of the Institute of Oceanography at Universität Hamburg, leading research in Theoretical Oceanography. His investigations focus on fundamental fluid dynamics principles governing oceanic systems, particularly energy transfer mechanisms and mixing processes at different scales.

Current research examines parameterization challenges in climate modeling, with emphasis on how small-scale turbulence influences large-scale circulation patterns.
