Carrie Dolan is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Data Science at the College of William & Mary, affiliated with the College of Arts & Sciences. Her research focuses on global health systems, foreign aid effectiveness, spatial epidemiology, and development economics. She employs geospatial and econometric methodologies to analyze health outcomes in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), with particular attention to malaria control, pediatric surgery, and China-Africa health collaborations.
Her work addresses critical questions about how foreign aid is distributed, its impact on healthcare access, and the role of cultural and geographic factors in disease prevention. Notable projects include evaluating bednet campaigns in the Democratic Republic of Congo, assessing China's hidden role in African malaria control, and analyzing the economic efficiency of surgical interventions in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Dr. Dolan's articles consistently bridge quantitative analysis with policy implications, emphasizing evidence-based approaches to global health challenges. Her spatial epidemiology research has informed pandemic response strategies, while her development economics studies provide frameworks for optimizing aid targeting in marginalized regions.
