Dr. Caroline Swarbrick is a Senior Lecturer in Ageing at Lancaster University's Health Research Department within the Faculty of Health and Medicine. She joined in February 2019 with a social science background, focusing on dementia research through participatory methodologies like film, animation, and music-making. Her work emphasizes collaboration with people living with dementia and care partners as co-researchers.
Current research includes EPSRC-funded studies on digital technology for older adults and involvement in the ESRC/NIHR Dementia Network Plus programme led by the University of the West of Scotland. Previous roles include Research Fellow and deputy leader of the Dementia and Ageing Research Team at the University of Manchester, working on projects like the 'Neighbourhoods and Dementia' study and pain management in acute care settings.
