Caroline Stinson is a Teaching Professor of Music at Duke University's Trinity College of Arts & Sciences, specializing in cello performance and chamber music. She serves as Director of the Chamber Music Program, overseeing over 80 students and 2 dozen ensembles. Her academic journey includes a Master of Music from The Juilliard School (2008) and a Bachelor of Music from the Cleveland Institute of Music (1997). A renowned performer, she collaborates with the Ciompi Quartet and has appeared at venues like Carnegie Hall, the Smithsonian, and international festivals. She actively commissions new works and engages in educational outreach through courses like MUSIC 104-3 (Cello) and MUSIC 398S (Meeting the World Through Chamber Music).
Her teaching philosophy integrates musicality with technical precision, as seen in her mentorship of Duke undergraduates and local cellists. She received teaching awards in 2024 as part of Trinity Faculty recognition.
