Caroline Schiller is a Professor of Voice and Director of Opera at Memorial University of Newfoundland's School of Music. She holds a B.Mus. from Mount Allison University, an M.Mus. from the New England Conservatory, and a D.M.A. from Florida State University. Her career spans concert, opera, and music theatre performances with renowned institutions like The Banff Centre, Boston Symphony Chamber Players, and L’Orchestre symphonique de Montréal. She has collaborated with conductors such as Charles Dutoit and Harold Prince.
Her research and outreach focus on Canadian music, vocal pedagogy, and opera education. She founded Opera RoadShow/Opéra en tournée, a touring program that brings opera to schools across Newfoundland, Labrador, and the Maritimes. Her doctoral thesis, A Performer’s Guide to Works for Soprano Voice by Canadian Women Composers, highlights her dedication to promoting Canadian composers.
