Dr. Caroline Lichuma is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Center for Human Rights Erlangen-Nürnberg (CHREN) of the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg. Her work critically examines regulatory developments in Business and Human Rights, particularly focusing on the impact of mandatory human rights due diligence laws like the German Lieferkettengesetz (LkSG) and the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) on Global South stakeholders.

- PhD in International Human Rights Law (Summa cum laude), Georg-August University of Göttingen
- LLM in Public International Law, New York University
- LLB, University of Nairobi
Her research expertise spans comparative constitutional law, economic and social rights, and regulatory frameworks in international human rights law. Prior to joining CHREN, she worked at the University of Luxembourg and taught at Strathmore University and Riara University in Nairobi, Kenya.
