Caroline Kyungah Hong serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of English at Queens College, City University of New York, where she also directs the Queens College AANAPISI Project (QCAP). Her academic work bridges literary scholarship with public engagement on Asian American cultural issues.
Dr. Hong's research focuses on 20th- and 21st-century Asian American literatures and cultures, with particular emphasis on Asian American fiction, comics, and pop culture. Her work shows particular interest in graphic narratives and their pedagogical applications, as well as the evolving representation of Asian Americans in comedy and popular media across historical periods.
Dr. Hong actively participates in public scholarship, giving talks and interviews on Asian American content and issues, including a notable appearance on WNYC's The Takeaway discussing Always Be My Maybe and the history of Asian American comedy.
