Dr. Caroline Keenan is an Associate Professor of Law and Legal Education at the University of Exeter's Humanities and Social Sciences School in Cornwall. She specializes in Criminal Law, Environmental Law, and innovative pedagogical approaches, emphasizing interdisciplinary teaching through role-play and project-based learning. She is Academic Conduct Officer for HaSS Cornwall (Law) and leads the LAB-C (Law and Business Cornwall) Education projects, including school Taskmaster initiatives.
Her research focuses on law in action, including Home Office-supported reforms in sexual offense and child protection legislation, co-authoring Child Abuse: Law and Policy Across Boundaries, and environmental conflict resolution. She has mediated family disputes and currently explores inclusive education, trauma-informed learning, and supporting student attendance.
