David Monciardini is a social scientist at the University of Exeter's Business School, based at the Cornwall campus. He serves as Director of the Law and Business programmes and holds an interdisciplinary background in Business, Law, and Sociology. He joined the university in 2015 and previously worked as a module leader in Financial Accounting at the Free University of Bolzano (Italy). His research focuses on business-society relationships and regulation, including circular economy governance, sustainable finance, and corporate accountability. He is a member of the Exeter Centre for Circular Economy and the Company Law Research Group at the University of Oslo.

His research explores new forms of accounting that integrate financial and non-financial KPIs, addressing tensions between legal, financial, and managerial perspectives. David contributes to Exeter Food Policy and collaborates through the university’s research networks. His work bridges Management, Accounting, Law, and Sociology, leveraging both qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
