Caroline Ingram is a Research Officer at the School of Humanities and a Research Assistant at the School of Social Sciences at the University of Western Australia. She holds a BA(Honors) from Deakin University and a BSc(Aviation) from Edith Cowan University. Her research focuses on legal history, particularly Indigenous women's experiences in colonial legal systems, and the intersection of gender, race, and colonial governance in Western Australia.
Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to education and justice. Key topics include 19th-century criminal justice systems, Aboriginal legal representation, and colonial administrative structures. She has published 12 research outputs since 2019, including articles in History Australia and entries in encyclopedias and biographical dictionaries.
In awards, she is a joint winner of the Margaret Medcalf Prize and recipient of the Ken Inglis Postgraduate Prize. Her research explores frontier justice, gendered legal outcomes, and biographies of colonial figures. Ingram also examines the historical and contemporary implications of jury dynamics and incarceration policies in colonial contexts.
