Caroline Hong is a Professor of Piano and Area Coordinator of Keyboard at The Ohio State University. She holds a Doctor of Music (DM) from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, a Master of Music (MM) from The Juilliard School, and a Bachelor of Music (BM) from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. As a Steinway Artist, she is internationally renowned for her performances in piano solo, chamber music, and competitions. Her expertise spans contemporary piano music, symphonic keyboard education, and piano-violin duos.
Dr. Hong has performed with major orchestras including the Columbus Symphony and Utah Symphony, and has appeared at venues like Carnegie Weill Recital Hall. She has won prestigious competitions including the Chicago Civic Orchestra Soloist Competition and has served on juries for renowned festivals such as the Aarhus International Piano Competition. Her pedagogical impact is evident through her students’ success in competitions and academic positions.
She leads roles such as President of the American Liszt Society Ohio Chapter and Executive Director of the Franz Liszt International Festival. Her teaching excellence is highlighted by her students’ achievements, including DMA Concerto Competition wins and GTA Awards.
