Dr. Caroline Fehl is a Senior Researcher at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF) and a Research Associate and External Lecturer at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. Her work focuses on International Security, with expertise in nuclear arms control, disarmament, nonproliferation, international criminal justice, transitional justice, and transatlantic security policy. She has contributed extensively to debates on global governance, norm complexity, and institutional design, particularly in the context of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty (NPT) and the Responsibility to Protect (R2P).
Caroline Fehl's research has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of International Relations and Development, European Journal of International Relations, and Human Rights Quarterly. Her recent work explores the fragmentation of international security regimes, norm linkage in responses to mass atrocities, and nuclear justice frameworks.
She serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of the German Foundation for Peace Research (since 2023) and has held substitute professorships at Helmut Schmidt University (2024) and Goethe University Frankfurt/M. (2022–2023). Her career includes affiliations with the University of Oxford, the Cluster of Excellence 'Normative Orders' at Goethe University, and postdoctoral research at Oxford.
