Caroline Bartle is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Transport and Society (CTS) within the Faculty of Environment and Technology at the University of the West of England. She is seconded part-time to the UK Department for Transport (DfT) as an ESRC Policy Fellow, focusing on behavioural science applications in transport policy. Her research spans sustainable transport, travel behaviour change, and evaluation of national transport programmes.

Research Interests: Bartle specializes in applying social psychology to travel behaviour, with emphasis on cooperation theory, bike-share systems, e-bike adoption, and transport accessibility for disabled users. Her work combines qualitative methods with policy impact assessments.
Publications: Recent outputs focus on the £2.45bn Transforming Cities Fund, e-bike user demographics, bike-share experiences, and the evolution of Mobility as a Service (MaaS) definitions. These works demonstrate interdisciplinary approaches bridging transport engineering, behavioural science, and urban planning.
