Khashayar Kazemzadeh is a Lecturer in Transport Planning at the University of Manchester, affiliated with the Department of Planning, Property and Environmental Management. He joined the university in August 2025 after serving as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Future Roads Fellow at the University of Cambridge, a Visiting Researcher at the University of Leeds, and a Postdoctoral Researcher at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. His research focuses on sustainable transport and urban mobility, leveraging interdisciplinary methods.

Research Interests
- Modelling interactions between active mobility users (pedestrians, cyclists, e-scooter riders) in shared urban spaces
- Assessing public transport quality and user experience in complex urban environments
- Evaluating adoption and impacts of powered micromobility (e-bikes, scooters)
- Using digital twins and brain response data (e.g., EEG) to analyze travel behaviour, perception, and comfort
His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Sustainable Cities and Communities. He is actively seeking PhD students with quantitative research expertise to explore these areas further.
