Carolina Rodriguez is a postdoctoral fellow and researcher at Lund University's Centre for Environmental and Climate Science (CEC) and BECC: Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services in a Changing Climate. She contributes to the LU Profile Area 'Nature-based future solutions' and holds a PhD in agroecology.
Research Focus: Biodiversity conservation mechanisms, climate change mitigation, and nature-based solutions at the health-biodiversity-climate change nexus. She develops conceptual frameworks for synergies/trade-offs in nature-based solutions and conducts evidence synthesis on biodiversity-ecosystem process links.
Academic Trajectory: Former postdoctoral positions at Linköping University (urban agriculture) and Wageningen University (Farming Systems Ecology). Her doctoral work at Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences examined crop diversification in southern Sweden.
Projects: Principal Investigator for 'Naturbaserade lösningar i sambandet klimat-biologisk mångfald-hälsa' (2024-2026) and 'Öka motståndskraft: Utnyttja Gröddiversitet för att stärka jordbrukssystem' (2023-2025). Active in the Excellence Programme for Sustainable Development (2021-2027) and nature-based solutions networks.
Public Engagement: Organizer of interdisciplinary workshops and panel discussions on nature-based solutions. Presenter at major climate conferences including the Convention on Biological Diversity (2024).
