Research Interests: Carole investigates sexual complexity through lenses of critical race theory, queer spatialities, and mindfulness ethics. She critiques 'sex positivity' as a complicit construct within White-supremacist frameworks and advocates for frameworks that center Black and marginalized bodies.
Publications Trends: Her work bridges art-based inquiry (e.g., art therapy approaches) with critical race theory, interrogating how mindfulness practices can inadvertently reinforce systemic inequities. Recent projects emphasize decolonizing research methods and queering temporal/spatial norms in group therapy settings.
Professional Engagement: A LGBTQIA+-informed therapist in private practice, Carole specializes in gender/sexuality counseling for monogamous and consensually non-monogamous relationships. They identify as queer and use they/them pronouns.
