She specializes in fostering long-term vocal health through cross-genre training in classical, pop, musical theatre, and contemporary commercial music while championing equity for underrepresented composers.
Her educational background includes:
- Voice degrees from the Frost School of Music
- Voice degrees from Colorado State University
- 2017 NATS Intern Program training under Margaret Baroody (Toronto)
- Certification in Meredith Colby's NeuroVocal Method
Dr. Perry's research focuses on inclusive vocal pedagogy, repertoire diversification, and genre-fluid voice training. Her advocacy work includes the 2022 Chadron State High Plains Festival keynote featuring the recital "No Boys Aloud: Works by Women," where she promoted BIPOC and female composers through workshops and masterclasses. She recently performed Lori Laitman's "The Years" song cycle with the composer present.
Her students consistently achieve top honors in NATS competitions across musical theatre and classical categories. Alumni have earned performance degrees from McGill University, Boston University, New England Conservatory, and University of Michigan, with several establishing professional careers on and off Broadway. Teaching evaluations highlight her student-led, inclusive approach in courses like Vocal Techniques and Singer's Diction.
