Carol Graham is an Associate Tutor (Specific Learning Difficulties) at the Institute for Education, Teaching and Leadership (IETL) within the Moray House School of Education at the University of Edinburgh. She holds a Master of Education (Cambridge) in Leading Teaching and Learning and a Diploma in Specific Learning Difficulties: Dyslexia (OCR/RSA). Her roles include part-time teaching on MSc Inclusive Education modules and work as an Education Additional Support Officer focusing on interrupted learning.
Her professional background spans 15 years as a classroom teacher, Special Educational Needs Coordinator, and dyslexia specialist. Notable experience includes leading a local authority SpLD outreach service and contributing to OCR Level 5 and 7 SpLD courses. Her research interests center on literacy/numeracy development, assessment strategies, and inclusive education, with a focus on socio-economic barriers faced by learners with dyslexia.
Carol is a board member of the British Dyslexia Association Accreditation Board and actively involved with Dyslexia Scotland and PATOSS. She has presented at conferences such as the 2016 European Dyslexia Conference in Modena, Italy.
