Carlye Chaney is a Research Fellow in Biological Anthropology at the University of Missouri. Her work focuses on biosocial interactions between environment, culture, and health, particularly studying endocrine disruptors' effects on reproductive health and infant development. She holds a PhD Candidate status at Yale University (expected 2023), with prior degrees from Yale (M.Phil 2019) and Washington University (BA Anthropology 2017).
Her research combines quantitative and qualitative methods to investigate environmental exposure disparities in populations across Connecticut, Illinois, Mississippi, and Formosa, Argentina. Key projects include the Chaco Area Reproductive Ecology Project and work with the Yale Reproductive Ecology Laboratory analyzing hormonal profiles. She has published on topics ranging from birth timing patterns in Argentina to immune function in athletes.
Chaney's research emphasizes environmental justice and equitable solutions to exposure disparities. Her work integrates evolutionary perspectives with modern public health challenges, particularly addressing how climate change exacerbates exposure risks.
