Pablo Nepomnaschy

Pablo Nepomnaschy is a Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University, where he has been affiliated since 2008. His interdisciplinary background spans physiology, ecology, anthropology, and epidemiology, with education including a Licenciado in Biology from Universidad Nacional de la Patagonia S.J.B. (Argentina), an MA and PhD from the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor, and post-doctoral training at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIH-USA).

His research examines stress effects on human development throughout the life course, particularly:

• Impact of environmental, health, and social stressors on female reproductive function
• Endocrine disruptor effects on early pregnancy
• Stress influence on inter-birth intervals and postpartum hormonal transitions

Current fieldwork involves Mayan communities in Guatemala and comparative studies in industrialized populations.
