Carlos Manuel Salomon, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Ethnic Studies at California State University, East Bay. His research focuses on borderlands ancestry, cultural memory, Chicano/a folklore, migration, and oral history. He holds a Ph.D. in Borderlands and Latin American History from the University of New Mexico.
Dr. Salomon co-leads the Bay Area Latin American Migrant Archive, a student-driven project collecting over 500 oral histories since 2008, documenting migrant experiences and challenges at the U.S.-Mexico border. He is the editor of *The Routledge History of Latin American Culture* (2018) and author of *Pio Pico: The Last Governor of Mexican California* (2010). Currently, he is co-editing a groundbreaking Ethnic Studies textbook (*Introduction to Comparative Ethnic Studies*, 2021) with over 50 scholars.
His work emphasizes decolonial frameworks and community engagement, blending academic rigor with activist praxis.
