Carlos Elguero

Dr. Carlos Elguero is an Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine at Albany Medical College, serving as Clinical Vice Chair and Assistant Residency Director. He directs the Geriatrics program for the Family Medicine Residency and oversees operations and quality improvement as the Medical Director of the residency practice. His roles include service on the Quality and Electronic Health Records Committee for his multispecialty group.

Education includes an MD from Ross University School of Medicine (2004) and a Family Medicine Residency at Albany Medical Center (2008). Board-certified in Family Medicine since 2018, he focuses on urban healthcare delivery to diverse populations, inpatient care, and long-term care. Dr. Elguero has contributed to global health initiatives through medical relief work in Uganda and leadership at the Engeye Health Clinic. He actively participates in the New York State Academy of Family Physicians, advocating for family medicine at state and local levels.
