Prof. Carlo Schuengel is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Behavioural and Movement Sciences at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, with affiliations to LEARN! (Child rearing) and APH (Mental Health). He holds a PhD in Social Sciences (Leiden University, 1997) and a Master's in Educational Sciences (Leiden University, 1992). His research focuses on family relationships, mental health resilience, and interventions for at-risk parents and caregivers, grounded in attachment theory. He has supervised 39 PhD theses and received notable awards, including the Bowlby-Ainsworth Senior Award (2019) and APS Fellowship (2017).
