Carlo Carraro is a distinguished academic and researcher in environmental economics and climate policy. He holds the position of President Emeritus and Professor of Economics at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. He earned his Ph.D. from Princeton University. His roles include former President of the University of Venice (2009–2014) and President of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE, 2018–2019). He is actively involved in global climate initiatives, serving on the IPCC Bureau and the Strategic Board of the Euro Mediterranean Centre for Climate Change (CMCC). He also chairs the National Committee on Climate Change Impacts on Infrastructures and Mobility and advises the European Commission (ECFIN) in Brussels.
