Carl-Henrik Heldin

Carl-Henrik Heldin is a Professor in Molecular Cell Biology at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Microbiology, Uppsala University, since 1992. He served as Director of the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research (Uppsala Branch) from 1986 to 2017.

• Born in 1952, he earned his PhD in Medical and Physiological Chemistry in 1980 at Uppsala University.
• His research focuses on molecular cell biology, signal transduction, and growth factors in cancer therapy.

He has received numerous honors, including membership in the European Molecular Biology Organization, Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, and Academia Europea. He holds four honorary doctorates from international universities.

• Key awards include the Pezcoller-AACR Award (2002), EMBO Medal (1992), and Rudbeck Medal (2011).
