Carl Friedrich Gethmann is a Professor at the School of Life Sciences of the Universität Siegen, holding the chair for 'Wissenschaftsethik / Medizinethik' since January 1, 2021. He has held significant academic positions, including Director of the Europäische Akademie zur Erforschung von Folgen wissenschaftlich-technischer Entwicklungen (1996–2012) and Professor for Science Ethics at the Forschungskolleg 'Zukunft menschlich gestalten' of Universität Siegen (2012–2020).
