Carl A. Young is an Associate Professor in the Department of Teacher Education and Learning Sciences at North Carolina State University. His work focuses on new literacies, digital media integration in English education, and innovative teaching strategies. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia and has held leadership roles such as MSL Program Coordinator and Literacy & English Language Arts Education Doctoral PAS Leader. His research explores technology applications like the flipped classroom, social media, and eportfolios, with a focus on enhancing English Language Arts (ELA) education. Dr. Young co-founded the New Literacies Teacher Leader Institute and has published widely on topics such as digital video in education and teacher professional development. He teaches courses on English methods, content-area literacy, and emerging technologies.
