Candice Wallace, Ph.D., is a Senior Research Scientist at the University of Kentucky's Stanley and Karen Pigman College of Engineering, affiliated with the Kentucky Transportation Center. Her work bridges transportation economics, policy analysis, and strategic planning. She has held this role since 2004, contributing to projects on freight logistics, intelligent transportation systems, and natural hazards resilience.
Dr. Wallace holds a Ph.D. in Economic Geography from the University of Kentucky, alongside a Graduate Certificate in Transportation Planning and Systems Management, and a Master of Public Policy and Administration. She also earned a BA in Political Science from the same institution. Her research emphasizes financial analysis for transportation infrastructure, policy implementation, and local economic development.
Her recent work includes assessing vulnerability of transportation assets to extreme weather, deploying uncrewed aerial systems in KYTC, and optimizing roadside management programs. She also serves as a trained facilitator for strategic planning initiatives, contributing to organizational change within state and university entities.
