Dr Candice Oster is a Senior Research Fellow at Flinders University, affiliated with the College of Nursing and Health Sciences and the Caring Futures Institute. Her work focuses on mental health nursing, implementation science, and healthy ageing. She has contributed to 96 research outputs and leads the 'Social Prescribing: Linking Australian Social, Health and Community Sectors' project (2025–2028), funded by multiple organizations including the Government of South Australia.
Research interests include knowledge translation, health equity, and healthcare policy. Key projects involve co-designing social prescribing frameworks and addressing barriers in chronic condition management. Oster has presented at conferences on topics like networked mental health services and primary care systems. She has supervised one nursing student and contributed to over 25 peer-reviewed articles since 2001.
Her research spans social determinants of health, cancer survivorship care, and substance abuse treatment. Collaborations include AnglicareSA and Adelaide Primary Health Network, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to healthcare challenges.
