Nasreena Waheed is a Lecturer in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences and an Associate Member of the Caring Futures Institute. She holds a PhD from Flinders University (2014), an MSc from the University of Adelaide (2006), and a Bachelor of Nursing from Monash University (2003). Previously, she served as a Senior Lecturer at Charles Darwin University (2020–2023). Her research focuses on workplace violence prevention in nursing students, cancer care coordination, and knowledge translation in healthcare. She has published 18 peer-reviewed articles and received an honorary award for top-cited papers in the Journal of Clinical Nursing (2025).
Her research interests include nursing student well-being, clinical placement safety, and interventions to mitigate workplace violence. She also explores cancer survivorship, public health strategies, and the impact of somatic therapies on cancer patients' mental health. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to quality education and good health.
Waheed’s articles analyze systemic and clinical approaches to addressing violence in healthcare education, urinary incontinence management in athletes, and pediatric oncology symptomatology. Her contributions emphasize evidence-based practice and improving patient-caregiver interactions.
