Candice Ivory is a Lecturer in the Department of Music at Washington University in St. Louis. She specializes in voice, jazz, and contemporary music performance, blending her expertise with visual art. Her affiliations include the Mike Curb Institute for Music and collaborations with the King Biscuit Blues Festival.
Education: BA from The New School of Jazz and Contemporary Music, New York. Notable early training includes a residency at Betty Carter's Jazz Ahead program at the Kennedy Center.
Research & Creative Work: Ivory’s practice emphasizes interdisciplinary projects, such as merging music with visual art. She pioneered the Unscripted symposium series at Rhodes College and the King Biscuit research fellowship. Her recordings include three solo albums and guest appearances, most recently on Kenneth Brown's Love People.
