Canan Nimet MERT is an Assistant Professor at Adiyaman University's Faculty of Education, Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education. She joined the university in 2013 as a Research Assistant and was promoted to her current position in 2023. Her academic journey includes a PhD in Turkish Education from Atatürk University (2016–2021), an MA (2013–2016), and a BA in Turkish and Social Sciences Education (2007–2011).
Her research focuses on Turkish pedagogy, prosody in language teaching, curriculum design, and educational technologies. Notable projects include investigating cooperative learning’s impact on questioning skills and digital storytelling’s role in prosody education. She has contributed to studies on curriculum analysis, classical literature integration in schools, and readability assessments of children’s stories.
Mert has authored or co-authored books such as INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATIONAL SCIENCES XII (2022) and World Literature with Examples (2015). Her work emphasizes practical applications, such as proposing models for classical Turkish texts in secondary education and addressing lexical challenges like synonyms in Turkish textbooks.
