Dr. Mehmet YILMAZ is an Associate Professor at Adıyaman University's Faculty of Education, specializing in Turkish and Social Sciences Education. Born in 1981 in Adıyaman, he earned his PhD in Modern Turkish Literature from Atatürk University. He previously served as faculty at Cumhuriyet University's Faculty of Letters before joining Adıyaman University in 2015.
His education includes a Turkish Language Teaching degree from Selçuk University (2002), a master's from Cumhuriyet University (2008), and a doctorate from Atatürk University (2013). He has authored 13 books including *The Other Shore of Language* (2024) and *Poetry and Mysticism* (2023), focusing on Turkish literary history, mysticism, and education methodology.
YILMAZ's research interests span modern Turkish poetry, cultural memory studies, and refugee narratives. His work frequently examines literary criticism, Sufi influences, and socio-political themes in Turkish literature. He has published over 46 articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences on topics like Syrian refugee experiences and Ottoman intellectual history.
As an editor for *National Literature* (2019), he contributes to academic publishing. His research highlights intersections between language, culture, and identity, with recent focus on postmodern Turkish literary movements and educational challenges faced by marginalized groups.
