معرفی
Can Akpınaroğlu is a Postgraduate Research Associate in the Department of Surgery at Yale School of Medicine, working under Dr. Sajid Khan. His research focuses on colorectal cancer biology, liver metastasis, and translational oncology, integrating multi-omic approaches with clinical outcomes. He contributes to molecular workflows including RNA isolation, biospecimen donation protocols, and sex-specific disparities in cancer prognosis. Previously, he supported proteomic analyses at the YSL Proteomics group, specializing in mass spectrometry sample preparation and DIA-MS techniques using the Orbitrap Fusion Lumos platform.
Education: MSc in Molecular Medicine from Universität Ulm; BSc in Genetics and Bioengineering from Yeditepe University. Advanced certifications include FELASA-B (Laboratory Animal Science) and participation in the Yale Cancer Biology Institute and Pharmacology Retreats. His expertise spans cancer biology, immunology, and precision medicine, with aspirations to bridge multi-omic techniques with clinical questions.
Research interests include asparagine metabolism in metastatic colorectal cancer, B-cell receptor signaling in CLL, and telomere-length regulation in aging. He has presented work on proteomic sample preparation strategies and contributed to studies on mitochondrial genetics and gene therapy applications.
