Camilo Soler Caicedo is a Lecturer in Culture, Media & Creative Industries at King's College London's Faculty of Arts & Humanities. He holds a PhD from King's, an MSc in Anthropology and Development from LSE (2014), and a BSc in Anthropology (2012). His research bridges anthropology, dance, and creative industries, focusing on embodiment, cultural policy, and social innovation through narratives.
Research interests include Experience Design, participatory action-research, and Latin American communities' cultural dynamics. He explores themes like masculinity performances in Colombian salsa, decolonized tacit knowledge, and environmental policy through projects like POR EL Páramo (High Andean Moorlands conservation). His work spans collaborations with indigenous Amazonian groups, post-conflict communities, and urban gangs.
Publications analyze dance's role in socio-cultural contexts, from Bogotá's dance economies to San Andrés' environmental transformations. Awards include six dance competition prizes. He teaches modules on Digital Economy, Latin American Studies, and cultural industries. Current projects include curating digital art exhibitions and advocating for marginalized communities through arts-based interventions.
