Dr. Camilla H. Parker is a clinical academic psychiatrist at Queen Mary University of London's Wolfson Institute of Population Health, part of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. She holds dual roles as an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow and Psychiatry Core Trainee. Her academic background includes a Medicine degree from the University of Cardiff (with an intercalated BSc in Psychological Medicine, First Class Honours) and a Royal College of Psychiatrists Pathfinder Fellowship. Professional experience spans Academic Foundation Programme training at Queen Mary/Barts NHS Trust, work at South London and Maudsley NHS Trust, and current core psychiatry training in East London.
Research focuses on adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and mental health outcomes using big data and mixed methodologies. Key interests include resilience mechanisms, protective factors against ACEs, and translational research on Bipolar Disorder and depression. She leads the Remote DIALOG+ study and co-edits a BMC Neuroscience collection on ACEs and brain health.
Teaching contributions include pioneering modern slavery identification training for healthcare professionals and lecturing on medicine/psychology courses. Awards include the Royal College of Psychiatrists Pathfinder Fellowship. Current projects involve systematic reviews of youth mental health interventions and community-based exercise programs.
