Dr. Cameron Oden is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Tagliatela College of Engineering, University of New Haven, joining in Fall 2022. His research focuses on environmental chemistry, water treatment technologies, soil remediation, and sustainable engineering solutions. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Civil (Environmental) Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin (2020) and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Oregon State University.

Research Interests: Dr. Oden’s work addresses critical environmental challenges through advanced remediation techniques. His research explores mechanisms of thermal remediation for soil contamination, life cycle assessments of PFAS water treatment technologies, and the role of minerals/organic matter in pollutant transformation. He combines experimental and analytical approaches to develop sustainable solutions for environmental degradation.
Publications: His recent work includes studies on pyrene degradation pathways during thermal treatment and membrane technology evaluations for water treatment. His 2024 paper in Science of the Total Environment highlights breakthroughs in understanding organic matter interactions during soil remediation.
Labs/Teams: Actively involved in environmental engineering research groups at the University of New Haven, focusing on interdisciplinary approaches to environmental sustainability.
