Professor Cameron Duff is a Deputy Dean (Research & Innovation) in the School of Management at RMIT University’s College of Business and Law. He holds a PhD in Political Theory from the University of Queensland (2002) and has held academic positions at institutions including the University of British Columbia (2005–2008) and Monash University (2009–2014). His research focuses on social innovation, organizational practices in healthcare and social care sectors, and the intersection of place, community, and policy. Key areas include housing insecurity, mental health, and sustainability.
Professor Duff has attracted over $2 million in research funding, including grants from the Australian Research Council and Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute. He collaborates with institutions like the Centre for Urban Research and Social Equity Research Centre at RMIT, and partners internationally with universities in the UK and Canada. His work has been recognized with multiple RMIT Research Excellence Awards and a top 2% ranking in global citations (Stanford/Elsevier).
He supervises PhD students in areas such as healthcare innovation, mental health policy, and entrepreneurship. Industry experience includes managing youth mental health services in Vancouver (2005–2009) and leadership in community-based care reforms. Awards include the 2004 International Journal of Drug Policy Young Writer’s Award and the 2009 Sir John Monash Fellowship.
