Caitlin Liddelow is a Lecturer in the Department of Sport Science, Exercise and Health at The University of Western Australia (UWA), within the School of Human Sciences. She holds a PhD in health psychology from Curtin University (2021) and a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from the same institution (2017). Prior to her current role, she served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Wollongong (2021–2024), leading a national ARC-funded project to develop mental health guidelines for Australian community sports. She is the current President of the Australasian Society for Behavioural Health and Medicine (ASBHM) and the National Delegate for the European Health Psychology Society (EHPS).
Her research focuses on mental health and well-being in sport, women’s health (particularly postpartum and body image), and the application of health psychology theories to predict health behaviors such as medication adherence and sport engagement. Notable projects include the development of the Ahead of the Game program targeting young men’s mental health and the creation of Australia’s first mental health guidelines for community sports.
Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and education, emphasizing evidence-based interventions and policy development. She actively mentors students and supervises higher degree research projects in health psychology and sport-related mental health.
